Brendan's Bio

I became professional counselor in hope to give people a chance of experiencing love and peace within themselves in times of hardship. It has been my passion to work with teens and young adults help discover their potential despite the struggles life brings us. My understanding of counseling derives from several theoretical orientations, but fundamentally, I believe each person has the tools and solutions to their dilemmas within him or herself. I reflect my counseling emphasis as the facilitator of a process to which my clients can take responsibility and action in order to come to a resolve. I look forward to working alongside you as we tackle life’s obstacles together.

I have extensive experience working with young adults and adolescents who have experienced trauma and other forms of mental health, like depression and anxiety. I have training in Eye Movement, Desensitization, and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), along with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

Moreover, I have strong desire to work with athletes and improving their mental game. As a former athlete myself,  I have found that my mental state is subject to a lot of variability dependent on what is going on in my personal life, not to mention situations I experienced both in and outside of a sport. An active lifestyle for most can be a form of self-care and I’d like to reinforce that routine to continue to make that a positive experience.

Additionally, I have experience working with men and young adults who struggle with pornography and want to break free from addicting tendencies. Shame is a major contributing factor to other mental illnesses, and pornography is often times used to numb emotions like loneliness, sadness, anger, and anxiety.

Ultimately my goal is to bring peace to any inner turmoil you may be experiencing. I look forward to accompanying you on this journey to discover your best self!
