We all have stories to explain why we think, feel, and behave in certain ways. At times, we are aware of the plot lines and can change them as we learn more about ourselves and the world around us. Other times these stories are so connected to our current way of living that they are hard to rewrite.

As a therapist, I believe once we can understand the story, we can build self-compassion for our past self.  I have learned, it is this self-awareness, which we build upon, for long-term change, as it lowers our judgments of self. As we become more connected to self, we begin to heal the past, be more present in the now and be empowered to build the future we desire.

My holistic approach is to focus on the connection of our mind and body along with the importance of regulating both.  Whether it is attachment wounds, traumatic events, relationship stressors, or the daily grind, I will work with you to see how this impacts the whole person and how grounding our body can help make changes in our minds.

I work from a strength based- trauma focused perspective – with training in EMDR (Eye movement, CPT (Cognitive Processing Therapy), TF-CBT (Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), and DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy). Utilizing these tools, I will walk alongside you in your healing journey.
