Our lives are shaped by stories- the stories we tell about ourselves, and stories our families and communities share with us–all of which help us learn about and make sense of the world around us. As your therapist, I am interested in learning about your story, the experiences you have had, how they might be influencing you today, and where you might be feeling “stuck”.

I enjoy helping people from all walks of life with a variety of concerns, including anxiety, depression, and mood disorders. As a therapist, I utilize the best of talk-therapy and play therapy (with children) and am trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and EMDR to create a unique therapy experience for people that is tailored to your specific needs as well as a child or adolescents’ level of development.

I have extensive experience working with children, adolescents and young adults who have experienced traumatic events in their lives, including children who have experienced foster care, individuals who are on the autism spectrum, and those who have experienced grief.

It can be very challenging in today’s society to be a parent when your child has gone through a traumatic event(s). As a therapist, I welcome parents who want to work with me on their own well-being as well as their childs’. Family therapy can also be a great option for healing and I am ready to help. I have a great deal of knowledge on how to help folks who are in blended families.

Trauma is often an isolating event and my goal as a therapist is to provide support to you and your family to bring healing and growth as you learn ways to integrate past experiences into a way where you are no longer inhibited by past reactions. If we do this, my goal is that you will be able to move into the future with more strength and resilience.

I also have a passion for working with other mental health professionals, and providing support for those who may be experiencing secondary trauma stress from their work. We know that trauma does not discriminate- it does not care if we have a degree or letters behind our names. What we experience, whether personally or through those we support- can deeply affect us, causing discomfort and distress in our personal and professional lives. Through a model called CE-CERT, I’ve had the opportunity to help other professionals identify areas of stress in their lives, discover ways to process and cope with these stressors, and to find meaning in their work.

In addition, I have experience working with people in the Christian Faith who are seeking additional integration of faith into their therapy.
