Awakening to Yourself: How loss can bring you home to the life you want with author Sheila Vanzile

Sheila Vanzile

[Episode 90 of The Intentional Clinician Podcast]

Author Sheila Vanzile talks with Paul Krauss MA LPC about her most recent book:

Sheila contributes her experience, unique style of candor, and honesty to the Intentional Clinician Podcast in this interview. Sheila shares part of her experience with awakening, as well as the “results” of listening to herself and acting on her intuition.

About the Author: “I am a product of the first generation of career women who were given the chance to balance family and “serious” careers as a result of the original feminist movement of the 1960s,” says Sheila Vanzile. For many years, we each had a full-time job managing the house plus a job outside the home. By all accounts, I had a very successful business career, but it wasn’t free. As a member of that generation, I failed to prioritize my needs, which caused me to turn 60 detached, unhappy, and unfulfilled. When my mother passed away at age 60, I was worn out from providing care and on the verge of collapsing. But as a result, I had been given time. And I promised myself that I would consciously use that time to reshape my life. to reclaim and embrace the self I had left behind decades before rather than living as a prisoner to the “shoulds” of the 60-year-old women of the world. In the ensuing three years, I started a focused search for spiritual awakening.”
