A Collaboration with the Pandemic Home Hotline
Paul Krauss, MA LPC has teamed up with Sylvia Gallusser, a futurist, to provide realistic paths for a better future. Sylvia is the CEO and founder of Silicon Humanism where she develops projects related to improving humanity’s future through technology. More recently, Sylvia has started a project on post-pandemic life. Collaborating with Paul Krauss, Sylvia and Paul have been able to produce the Pandemic Home project, featuring several Pandemic Home Hotline scenarios. This hotline could be part of a future resource available to individuals during the pandemic. Listen here for a simulation of how the hotline could operate. The scenarios have been turned into audio dialogues, simulating the dramatic conversation between individuals in distress at their home and mental health hotline responders. Three scenarios have been developed: a single male with contamination anxiety, an elderly woman living alone with health problems, and a mother escaping domestic violence. These scenarios are realistic and demonstrate how technology can be used to benefit society, particularly in the area of mental health. With Paul’s expertise in mental health and hotline operations and Sylvia’s prowess in futurism, it is exciting to see how the two can combine to create new options for the future.
