Lindsey's Bio
On the path of self-realization, there is no one big awakening, but many along the way of varying degrees: some small, some big; and each one of them is like the lotus flower, which grows out of muddy waters.”
Humanity is resilient. When we face pain and hardship or when we get stuck, we find ways to adapt. However, because we are resilient, sometimes we don’t realize which patterns in our lives aren’t working anymore. While those patterns serve us in many ways, some ultimately prevent us from meeting all of our needs and reaching our full potential. Only when we become mindful do we see where our unmet needs in one area rippled into others.
From birth onwards, we unintentionally express these unmet needs in our relationships with others, in our behaviors, even in our bodies. Fortunately, it is never too early or late to transform deeply and write a new story. People naturally move towards a state of healing, but we can get stuck. Once the barriers to fulfilling our needs are removed, each of us has inside ourselves the ability to return to a state of wholeness, growth and empowerment.
As a therapist, I believe that the walls between mind, body, spirit, and surroundings blend into each other. I want to be a guide and an advocate who sees your strengths and can offer you tools you can incorporate into your own life outside of the office, as well as knowledge you can use to better understand yourself. We will collaborate on your goals, and through every phase of treatment to make sure you are feeling secure in your process. I want to offer a safe, empathetic, and nonjudgemental space for you to open up at your own pace.
In particular, I use Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) as well as other tools for children and adults. Therapy can be a challenge, and I sincerely believe you have what it takes to heal. I will also be scheduling Reiki sessions for those who are interested in pursuing distance or in-person energy work in the future. In my sessions, all parts of you are welcome.
My Office Is:
A comfortable space where you can come to be genuinely cared about– scars, shadows and all. I deeply care about ALL of my clients and appreciate all the ways in which you are beautifully human, even and especially the parts that you can’t yet love yourself
Where we don’t have to talk about trauma, because trauma healing is often about doing and feeling into the good that you have in your life now
Where every reaction you encounter in yourself can be met with compassion, curiosity and non-judgemental awareness
Where we can both grow in attunement and curiosity around your needs, boundaries, values, and strengths
Where we focus on YOU, your life, your values, your goals and strategies that consider your own capacities because both myself and my experiences are not the expert in your own journey
Where we can also have fun and each session doesn’t have to end leaving you bored, emotionally drained and/or activated (because who wants that??)
Where you can come as you are, you can cry, punch a pillow, and laugh about the stuff of life with someone who will be proud of you for expressing yourself
Where you can learn about the strengths and wisdom of your brain, body and nervous system who have been devotedly nurturing and protecting you as best as they can and then build a toolkit to return the favor
Where you can learn liberating facts about neurodivergence so that you can have a life of more comfort and ease inside your own skin
Where you can unburden from what’s been keeping you stuck and integrate into your most authentic, self sovereign you!
