Accepts HSA Cards Health Insurance for Counseling

Good news! All of the therapists at Health for Life Grand Rapids and the Trauma-Informed Counseling Center of Grand Rapids can accept your Health Savings Account (HSA Card) for counseling. Using a Health Savings Account (HSA Card) is simply a way to pay your therapist directly utilizing pre-tax funds from your employer or personal Health Savings Account.  You may utilize your Health Saving Account for any therapy session with your therapist at our Grand Rapids office or via telehealth or online counseling.

In fact, you may utilize your Health Savings Account whether you choose to utilize insurance or not. This applies to the following situations where you are attending counseling sessions:

  • I want to pay my insurance deductible utilizing my Health Savings Account (Yes, you can do this!).
  • I want to pay my copay for counseling utilizing my Health Savings Account (Yes, you can do this!).
  • I want to pay my co-insurance due for counseling utilizing my Health Savings Account (Yes, you can do this!).
  • I want to pay my out of network rate due utilizing my Health Savings Account (Yes, you can do this!).
  • I want to pay my therapist a cash rate utilizing my Health Savings Account (Yes, you can do this!).
  • I want to pay my counselor an agreed upon reduced cash rate utilizing my Health Savings Account (Yes, you can do this!).

Utilizing your Health Savings Account with our Grand Rapids counselors is easy. Simply bring your HSA card to your therapy session and use it at the end of the session, or if you are utilizing online therapy, you may pay your invoice securely online–or store your HSA card securely with your therapist and they can charge the fee, with your permission, post visit.

We look forward to serving you by providing excellent therapy services at this time, while accommodating your wish to utilize your Health Savings Account.
